Terms of Service

Last updated: 9 October 2026

These terms explain how our card grading service works and what you can expect from us. They are written in plain English, and your statutory rights are not affected.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use our website or submit cards to Holy Grail Grading Ltd (“HGG”, “we”, “us”), a company based in London, UK. By submitting cards you confirm that you have read and accepted them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

2. Our services and prices

We offer the following grading services. Prices are per card unless stated and are shown in pounds sterling:

We currently grade Pokémon TCG, One Piece TCG and Topps TCG cards. Prices and services may change; the price shown when you submit your order is the price that applies to it.

3. Submitting your cards

To submit cards, first select your service tier and pay securely via Stripe at checkout, then complete the online submission form. Print and include the completed submission form with your cards. Place each card in a penny sleeve and top loader, wrap the cards securely in bubble wrap, and pack them in a rigid cardboard box. Send your cards to: Holy Grail Grading, PO BOX 1484, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 0UT, using a tracked and insured service. Include your Stripe payment confirmation email with your cards.

You confirm that you own the cards you send, or are authorised to send them, and that the information on your submission form is accurate. We may decline to grade, or return, any card that we reasonably believe is counterfeit, altered, stolen, or not suitable for grading.

4. Postage and risk

You are responsible for your cards until we receive them. HGG is not responsible for cards that are lost or damaged in transit to our facility. We strongly recommend a tracked and insured service with an appropriate declared value. Once your cards are in our possession, we will handle them with care under our grading procedures.

5. Payment

Pay first via Stripe at checkout when you select your grading service, then complete the submission form and post your cards to our Crawley PO Box. Include your Stripe payment confirmation email with your cards. We accept major credit and debit cards. We do not store your full card details.

6. Turnaround times

Turnaround times start from the date we receive your cards and are in business days: HG Standard 7, HG Value Plus 5, HG Value Max 3, and HG Bulk (20 cards) 15 to 20. These are our targets, not guarantees, and they may be affected by high volumes or events outside our control. They do not include the time your cards spend in the post.

7. Grading and the HGG scale

We grade on a whole-number scale of 1 to 10 with no half grades, using the criteria published on our scale page. For example, a Grade 10 GRAIL requires centering of 55/45 or better and no visible flaws under magnification.

A grade is our professional opinion of a card’s condition at the time we inspect it. Grading is not a valuation or a guarantee of resale value, and we do not accept responsibility for how a grade affects the market price of a card. Once a grade has been issued we do not change it, unless we find that we made a clear error.

8. The slab and certificate

Graded cards are sealed in an ultrasonic-welded acrylic slab with a unique certificate ID. The seal is designed to be permanent and tamper-evident. If the slab is opened, cracked or altered, the certificate may no longer be valid and we are not responsible for any resulting loss. You can check any certificate on our verification page.

9. Public verification registry

By submitting cards, you agree that the grade, card details and inspection images for each certificate will be shown in our public verification registry. See our Privacy Policy for details.

10. Returning your cards

After grading, your cards are returned to the address you gave on your submission form. Please make sure your address is correct and tell us promptly if it changes.

11. Cancelling and your legal rights

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights under UK law, including rights relating to the quality of services and, in some cases, a right to cancel an online order. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. If you want to cancel or change an order, please contact us as soon as possible. Once grading has started, or the service has been fully carried out, the right to cancel may no longer apply.

12. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss or damage to your cards that is caused by our negligence while the cards are in our possession.

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Otherwise, and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for indirect losses such as loss of profit or of an expected increase in a card’s value.

13. Our website and content

The text, images, logos, grading reports and design on this website belong to us or are used with permission. You may share links to our website and certificates, but please do not copy or reuse our content for commercial purposes without asking us first.

14. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one shown on this page when you submit it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, although if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
